Usability testing was divided into four tasks intended to evaluate implementation by potential users. I watched 4 users
implementing each of the tasks. The users were asked to answer four short open questions upon completion. The results
were collected through both viewing the participant while he navigates the prototype.
At the end of each task, the users were asked to answer the following questions:
In all, the users found the interface simple and easy to use. The participants were successful in completing the tasks with ease and quickly. However, they did raise a few important points. The first iteration round of the design successfully stood up to expectations, but additional iterations must be implemented.
From the reactions I received, I ascertained that, though there is still room for improvement to the interface, it is still very user friendly. From observing the actions of the users on the prototype and their feedback, I believe that the users found the function for recording food details particularly useful. This enables greater involvement and interaction with the App which, in turn, will encourage users to continue using the App. (Of course, this is based on application of pertinent and extensive database and technology).
This project still has to be developed since as mentioned, there are functions that have not yet been implemented, as well as adjustments that must be made in the user interface, as per the feedback I received.
In addition, the interface and screen design has only been evaluated so far for the users who wish to use this type of service. The next stage is to create an interface for dieticians who wish to register their services from the other side and evaluate and test it accordingly. Then, it will be necessary to continue to evaluate and more iterations in order to continue to upgrade and improve the product.
